East: Speculative Design
This artwork is part of my exploration into book design and cover illustration, where typography and traditional art meld together to create a unique and captivating image, through the process of thoughtful research, history, and ideation. Within this page are some slight alterations to the skein of yarn; one version is in a crimson red for contrasting asymmetry, while the other conveys more symmetrical organization through the use of the same periwinkle-esque blue, as seen in the weaving shuttle.
