When Among Crows: Speculative Design
This artwork is part of my exploration into book design and cover illustration, where typography and traditional art meld together to create a unique and captivating image, through the process of thoughtful research, history, and ideation. Created as a traditional graphite drawing with watercolor washes for the background, this image, spanning the entire jacket, uses symbolic imagery from within the novel’s pages and utilizes color to bring a sense of depth and eeriness.
